How to make easy bhaturas

Equipment

  • Wok/Kadhai for deep frying, A large slotted spoon, Rolling pinShivtara Maida

Ingredients
  

  • 3 cups Shivtara Maida
  • 1 cup Milk
  • 1/2 tsp Baking Soda / Cooking Soda
  • 2 tbspn Sugar
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 1/2 tbsp oil
  • as needed oil for deep frying

Instructions
 

Method:

  • Mix Shivtara Maida, salt, sugar, baking soda & oil together in a mixing bowl until well blended.
  • Add all the dahi/yogurt and milk and knead for 5 mins into a soft dough. Cover the bowl with a damp cloth and let this rest for 30 minutes.
  • After 30 minutes, knead gently before dividing it in to small portions.
  • Roll out each portion in to small thick circular rotis.
  • Heat your oil in the meantime to deep fry your Bhaturas.
  • Once the oil is hot, drop the rolled bhatura in the oil, gently pressing it on top top till submerged. The cooking bhatura will puff up as you do.
  • Flip them over, cook the other side and remove and drain on a paper towel & serve hot.
